Yauch Offers Beastie Boys Update
The Beastie Boys's Adam "MCA" Yauch gave an update on his health and the group's forthcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1 last week.
Yauch, who spent the better part of 2009 recovering fromm salivary gland cancer, made an appearance at last week's Independent Spirit Awards, where he represented The Messenger, which was distributed by his Oscilloscope Laboratories.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly's Music Mix, Yauch said he's doing much better, and is now "getting my energy back" following treatment.
Unfortunately for Beastie Boys fans, Yauch explained that the latest effort from the trio, which was pushed back due to the cancer news, might be postponed even further.
"It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctors orders. We may or may not [release Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear, Yauch said.
The effort was initially scheduled for a September 15th, 2009 release, but now the group is contemplating another look at the final result.
"We want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I dont think we will change it up too much, Yauch added.
